Message from the Chief

Thank you for visiting the Golden Gate Fire Protection web site. I am proud to represent the men and women of this organization that unselfishly donate their time to serve our community. The Golden Gate Fire Department covers a 50 square mile area in unincorporated Jefferson County. The department is made up of all volunteers except for the part-time paid Chief and the part time administration employee. The Golden Gate district includes three Jefferson County Open Space parks as well as the Golden Gate Canyon state park. The Golden Gate Fire Department provides all-hazard response to include emergency medical services, wildland fire, structure fire, Hazardous materials, motor vehicle extrication, and technical rescue.

I am dedicated to providing the highest level of emergency response in a timely manner with trained qualified personnel at the lowest cost possible to our taxpayers. As we continue to see more growth, traffic, and increased call volume in Golden Gate Canyon, we continually strive to grow with the demand. We will continue to work with our neighboring Fire Departments and find innovative ways to upgrade our equipment, facilities, and recruit Firefighters with the limited budget we have to work with.

Please browse our website to learn more about our organization and to see how you can become a volunteer Firefighter and be a part of this most honorable and noble profession.

Thanks for visiting our site
