I am pleased
to report the accomplishments of First
Responder, FAN (Fill-A-Need) and GGFPD
Board volunteers in 2009. Their
achievements establish a foundation that
enables GGFPD to better perform its
Mission in 2010 and beyond. A parallel

2010 and beyond. In both articles, you
see the results of a focused commitment
to the GGFPD Culture, Vision and
Mission. Beginning this month we will do
a better job of communicating results

Introduction
The Golden Gate Fire Protection District serves 1200
Colorado people living in 450 homes in an area of 50 square miles. We also serve various recreation areas including Golden Gate Canyon State Park, White Ranch Open Space Park, Mount Galbraith
Open Space Park, and Colorado Department of Wildlife lands. Our department is all-volunteer, consisting of full-time, part-time and volunteer professionals. Our ISO (Insurance Services Organization) rating is a nine.
The Golden Gate Fire Department operates two stations with three engines, one brush unit, one medium rescue, one light rescue, and two
water tenders.

Our coverage area to the north is Coal Creek Canyon Fire Protection District, to the west is the Gilpin County, to the south is Clear Creek Canyon, and to the east is Colorado Highway 93. We cover White Ranch Open Space Park, Mount Galbraith Open Space Park, and Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
